Last week, our team had the incredible opportunity to attend the FINAL FANTASY XIV Fan Festival 2016 in Las Vegas, and what an experience it was! As passionate fans of the game and the vibrant FFXIV community, we were excited to contribute in a meaningful way. Our role was to provide a mountable life-size (yes, giant!) Fat Chocobo statue and a real-time recording and social sharing solution that would help capture the energy and excitement of the event.

Giant video game statues are always a hit at any expo, convention, or trade show. Their sheer size and presence draw crowds immediately, but our giant statues take it a step further. For this event, Square Enix’s Final Fantasy XIV marketing team asked us to design and fabricate a giant Chocobo statue. But it wasn’t just a statue—it was an experiential installation. Fans had the chance to climb onto the Fat Chocobo and ride it for a photo opportunity, creating unforgettable memories. The statue became an interactive part of the experience, engaging fans in a way that’s unique to video game culture.

For this life-size video game statue, we handled everything from initial concept illustrations to the physical production and final delivery to the convention center. Seeing the fans’ reactions when they climbed onto the Chocobo statue was priceless—it became an iconic piece of the festival.

Additionally, we provided a real-time recording and social sharing solution that allowed attendees to capture their moments and share them instantly with the world. The solution made it easy for fans to document their experiences and interact with the larger FFXIV community in real time. It was amazing to see how many fans posted their own content on Twitter and other platforms, creating a buzz around the festival that continued long after the event ended.

The FFXIV community is truly one of a kind, and working with the amazing team at Square Enix made this experience even more memorable. We’re already looking forward to future collaborations and can’t wait to see what the next Fan Festival brings.
